This is your third letter and timed just right for Thanksgiving break. This letter will be a thank letter to someone who has had a significant impact on your life. This will be a handwritten letter to someone important in your life (must be a living person) who has had some impact on you and who you have become. This can be a relative who provided guidance, a teacher who inspired you, a mentor who gave you direction, a friend who has always been there for you, etc.
- Be sincere.
- Share how this person is important to you.
- Share how knowing this person has made you feel.
- Be specific in how they had an impact on your life.
- Not too short and not too long. (there is no limit on the length of the letter, but should be long enough to sincerely convey your gratitude and why you are writing to share your gratitude)
You do not need to include all of these prompts, they are merely to help generate ideas for your letter.
Write the letter by hand on paper or a card. Please write the recipient’s name and address on the front of the envelope, as well as your preferred return address. DO NOT SEAL the envelope, but bring the completed letter and envelope to class on November 28.
I will mail these for you, so no need to add a stamp. I will mail them the week of finals so that you can focus on finals during that week.
This has always been a very special assignment. It will lift not only your spirits but also your recipient’s.
Due by the start of class on November 28.
